On the 25th of March 2024 being Monday, the WAEC BOARD Appoints New Head of Council whom today goes by the name Prof. Thomas Brima Rick Yormah. Prof. Thomas Brima Rick Yormah whom was elected by WAEC as the Head of Council is recorded as the 21st Chairman of Council during the 72nd Annual Council Meeting.

Prof. Thomas Brima Rick Yormah who was newly elected on the 25th of March 2024 as the New Head of Council was the successor of Prof. Ato Essuman who is from the Republic of Ghana. On the same occasion, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) was congratulated on their 72nd Anniversary by the Sierra Leonian President known as Julius Maada Bio who was recognized to as representing his vice who was known as Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh.

To this, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) was also congratulated for being relevant for over (7 decades). Still on that same day being Monday 25th of March 2024, the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Board offered 3 existing Ghanaian Candidates for there excellent performance and scores during the 2023 WAEC Examination.
